Glaucoma is not a single disorder but a group of disorders which results in damage to the optic nerve and usually involves high pressure caused by fluid build-up inside the eye. The damage to the optic nerve and other eye structures can cause loss of vision. Although this damage is not rrreversible, it is preventable through early detection and treatment. The links on this page will bring up articles about these conditions, diagnosis, treatment, lifestyle issues, where to find support, and research. A special section is included with information for medical professionals. All links will open in a new window. Most of the articles are not located on this site.
